Casket races, you say? YES! With all the famous folks buried in Forest Park (and the fact that thirty times the living population are interred in Forest Park cemeteries) it's a perfect fit! Simply good, clean fun, the Forest Park Flapper Ghost Casket Race will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 on Beloit Avenue between Adams and Madison. Check in time for teams is 9 a.m. and the race begins promptly at 10 a.m. Teams are running their fastest to win so don't be late or you might miss the race! Trophies will be awarded following the race. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, and live music for your enjoyment.

You'll revel in all things Christmas while strolling Madison Street during the Holiday Walk. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, photo opportunities with Santa and his reindeer, a marshmallow roast, face painting and merchant open houses featuring special sales, refreshments and more are among the treats awaiting you -- but the highlight is the shopkeeper's windows - featuring creative and sometimes humorous live holiday displays. You've never seen anything like it - not even on State Street! The Holiday Walk begins when Santa arrives by fire engine to light the Christmas Tree in Constitution Court (Thomas and Madison) at 6 p.m. Then bring your camera for a photo op and visit with Santa from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Forest Park National Bank & Trust (7348 Madison). Don't miss the live window displays and don't forget to vote for you favorite window!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 8, 2014
Growing in popularity each year, this annual parade is one of the largest in the western suburbs. Kicking off a 1 p.m., the parade features 70-plus entries including several bagpipe bands, the award-winning Proviso Marching Band, local businesses, Medinah Shriner's Mini Choppers, Roaring 57's and Clown Unit, area police and fire vehicles, floats, Irish Dancers, Forest Park Dog Park, Toys for Tots and more.
