Forest Park Chamber of Commerce
As with most communities, the Village of Forest Park has a local Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber plays a key role in helping to establish new business and keeping the business community vibrant. Many functions are held throughout the year, which help to promote their member community. In some instances they work in unison with the Forest Park Main Street Association. Annually the Chamber of Commerce hosts Forest Park ’s “Summerfest” held along Madison Street . This large festival boasts top named Chicagoland entertainment, crafts, children’s activities, food, and much more. Watch for this summer event every June.

Library
We are proud of our library, which has been serving the village since 1916. We are open Monday through Thursday from 10-9, Friday from 10-6, Saturday from 10-5, and Sunday during the school year from 1-5.

Our goal is to provide materials, both print and electronic, that will meet your educational and entertainment needs. We have materials for every group, and in every format imaginable, from popup books for children to novels, nonfiction books, and video and musical selections.

Library cards are quite easy for village residents to obtain, and are your passport to a world of entertainment and information, both in person and on line. Please visit our website at http://www.forestparkpubliclibrary.org to check our catalog, request and renew items, and use many of our electronic resources. You can do this in the library, or from any computer with Internet access.

Park District
Forest Park is home to several “tot-lots” and a large Park District. The Park District of Forest Park has an Aquatic Center which boasts two large water slides, a volleyball court and a child safe water sport area. The Park District has been the site for the Midwest ’s annual “No Gloves Nationals” for many years consecutively and is consistently chosen because of the wonderfully maintained fields for play. Recently the park added a rink for “in-line” skaters and a state of the art Soccer field.

Schools
The Village of Forest Park has four Grammar Schools, One Middle School and one Math & Science Academy located within its corporate limits. It is also home to two Parochial Grammar Schools and is neighbor to Proviso East High School, Fenwick High School and Trinity High School.

Our children thrive in its educational environment. The following is the Mission Statement adopted by District 91’s school board:

"Our mission, in partnership with home and community, is to educate each child in a safe and nurturing environment where we will foster respect and self-worth, teach the skills relevant to contemporary life, promote academic success and creative expression, encourage an appreciation of the rich cultural diversity of our global community, and instill a sense of wonder for the future, thus enabling our students to become responsible citizens and life-long learners."
